Happy Deepavali. The festival of Deepavali is a beautiful and dazzling time of fun and religious observance. It is the celebration of the victory of light over darkness and good over evil.
Jesus himself said, "I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall never walk in darkness but will have the light of life"
The Deepavali lamps reminds us of Lord Shri Jesus Christ's victory over the darkness of sin that resides in all of us. His sinless life and sacrificial death has the power to blot out the darkness of sin from us. Regarding his getting up alive again after death, Lord Shri Jesus Christ said, "I am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in me will live, even though he dies".
“The moment when the blood of the sacrifice falls on the ground, the person who brings the sacrifice will be forgiven. Whoever sacrifices as a good deed, will be through this sacrifice kept safe from the fires of hell” (Ref. Kurban ve Faziletleri, Feridun Yılmaz Yüceler, 1985, s.10-11). There lies the hope of being forgiven of sins and future paradise.
But can an animal’s blood be the price for the forgiveness of our sins? Or does the sacrifice of an animal mean the sign that points to a greater truth?

May you experience a fresh start this year as you extend forgiveness to everyone you meet.
The Lord Jesus had some very important words to say about forgiveness:
One day devotee Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, when someone won’t stop doing wrong to me, how many times must I forgive them? Seven times?”
Lord Jesus answered, “I tell you, you must forgive them more than seven times. You must continue to forgive them even if they do wrong to you seventy-seven times.
