5. How You Can Be a Fruitful Witness

What is the most important moment of your life? If you are a follower of Jesus, it is the moment you accepted Jesus Christ into your life to be your Lord and Savior. Because of your faith in Him, you now have life, and life more abundantly (John 10:10).

What then is the greatest thing you can do for another person? It is to give them an opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and experience the abundant life you now have. God has you given you both the command and the ability to tell others about Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus said to His disciples (us), “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19,20). We can make disciples of others by witnessing to them—by telling them about who Jesus Christ is and what He has done for us.

In order to be an effective witness, you should be confident of your own salvation by faith in Jesus Christ and should be filled with the Holy Spirit. Always confess any sin you have committed to God and ask for His forgiveness, and be prepared to share your faith in Jesus.

Then ask God for opportunities to witness, and talk to those whom you know and those you meet about Jesus Christ. God “desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4), so you can go in the power of the Holy Spirit and tell others about the salvation available through belief in Jesus Christ!
