7. How You Can Help Fulfill the Great Commission

Now that you are a follower of Jesus, you know of and have the great gift of salvation from Jesus Christ. Because you were presented with the gospel and believed, you have been freed from sin and death and have been given an abundant, eternal life. But millions of people in the world today have not heard the good news about Jesus Christ and so do not have the chance to believe and experience an abundant, eternal life.

In the same way that God desired you to hear the gospel so that you might believe in His Son Jesus and be saved, He also “desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4). This is why Jesus gave us the command to “go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15) and to “make disciples of all the nations” (Matthew 28:19).

Bringing the good news of Jesus to the world is called the Great Commission, and this privilege has been given to us as followers of Jesus. You can help fulfill the Great Commission by telling those you know about Jesus, by praying for those who do not yet know Him, or by giving your time or money to help allow the gospel to be preached throughout the world. You can ask God about the specific way you can help fulfill the Great Commission.
