God's Love Letter #26

We hope you will read the Ten Commandments often and think about them. Obeying them will let God know that you really do want to have joy in your heart. And it will help you to keep your mind open to Him so that He can show you each day what He wants you to do with your life.

As we examine our hearts, all of us can see that we have not obeyed the laws God has given us. God, too, can see this disobedience clearly. Failing to obey these laws shows us how weak we are and how much we need God in our lives. God understands this.

Long ago, God made plans to help us. Even from the beginning of the world, He planned to come in person to give us help. This is why He sent Jesus Christ, who is God the Son, to live with us here on the earth. He Himself chose that Way to give us help. This is why Jesus said, when He was on the earth, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to God the Father except through Me.”

This helps us to see how we should relate to God who made all of us. He made us in such a way that every person in every country needs the things He can do for us. This need in our lives draws us toward God. The great love He has shown to us also draws us closer to Him. When we understand this and decide to let God be our Teacher, we begin to see our purpose on the earth. That is when joy, purpose and fulfillment come into our life.

This is the great thing you have been searching for. Here is where God makes a great promise to us, to our family, to our relatives, to our classmates, and to all people, “Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.”

It would be great if you would share these thoughts with your friends who are Christians. Then you will see the way God’s Spirit works in the hearts of people.

Read Matthew chapter 7, verses 1–29; and John chapter 14, verses 1–31.
